"Samurai Armor Signed Japan, 17th Century, Edo Period (1603-1868) Natural Iron"
SAMURAI ARMOR signed and en suite
Japan, 17th century, Edo period (1603-1868)
Natural iron, lacquer, wood, fabric, horsehair and silk laces


Complete armor composed of a helmet called kabuto, with five-bladed shikoro and hachi sixty slats; it is adorned with a dog-headed maedate flanked by two long kuwagata, a facial shield called mempo with bladed gorget and mustache and horsehair soul patch, shoulder pads, called osode, with seven lamellae, d 'a bipartite breastplate closing on the side, a protective underskirt called kusazuri and made up of six panels trimmed with silk ribbons, a pair of shorts, called haidate in the form of an apron and leggings.
It is accompanied by its wooden transport box called gusoku bitsu.
