"Winged Angel Head In Carved Oak"
Magnificent cherub carved in oak, work in the round for the head and strong relief for the rest of this element of 18th century woodwork. The head of the long-curled angel is truly lovely; well chubby, treated in the round, it rests on a strong winding in the upper part. Lateral wings surround the face (a small lack on one of them indicated by an arrow on a detail photo), then two other symbolic wings in the center of the piece of wood. The sculpture descends "in cascade" embellished with several windings ending in two opposite shells (a lack on the one on the left, see detail photo). Very few insect bites, now extinct, mainly on the top of the hair; this work remains very solid. Remarkable work of cabinetmaking with beautiful proportions, certainly part of a large set of woodwork, it remains today a beautiful element of decoration. Note: very beautiful patina of time, a guarantee of authenticity. Delivery: 20€ for metropolitan France.
