Mortar Lyon seventeenth Beautiful vintage bronze bronze mortar frustoconical. The flared neck has a decor flowers while the belly is decorated with four alternating foothills woman draped in antique busts. Lyonnais work that can be compared to the production of Toine Cavet. Bronze Epoch Our seventeenth wink: Mortars, already used in ancient times, become the emblem of pharmacy in the Middle Ages. Inventories of pharmacies tell us that they are then manufactured in various materials (ivory, stone, marble, wood, gold or silver), but the most common are those of iron or bronze.
