"Rare Pair Of Louis XV Oak Leaf Five-branch Sconces"
An exceptional pair of Louis XV sconces in gilded mercury bronze with a motif of oak foliage bobèches with windings with acorns; five branches richly ornamented with foliage, of rare elegance, the generous and eventful flanges under the sockets are as worked and chiseled as the body, a rare set in perfect condition. I am thinking of a Parisian work from the mid-18th century. The density of the bronze the quality of the shapes the carving and moreover untouched in the 19th century for the electrification (wire passages) quite for an enlightened Amateur if I may say so .....
