Brooch In Gold And Garnets, Mid-19th Century.

This very beautiful brooch consists of a first cartouche in gold, with a neo Louis XV decoration, set with a large garnet cabochon, under which is suspended a pendant, set with a garnet in the shape of a drop, on either side. and on the other side of the brooch two small chains with openwork links, also set with small garnets, hold a second cartridge mounted with a garnet cabochon in the shape of a drop. This important one dates from the middle of the 19th century, it has all the opulent charm of the jewels of this period. Dimension of the brooch, high 9.7 cm, wide 3.2 cm. Dimension of the largest garnet 1.5 cm x 1.1 cm of the pendant 0.9 cm x 0.7 cm, and of the garnet of the low element 1.2 cm x 0.9 cm.
