"Fan, Second Half Of The Eighteenth Century."
This fan is 20 strands, it presents on one side, a genre scene painted in gouache. On a background of greenery, a couple is dancing accompanied by two musicians, they are observed by a shepherdess and a young peasant woman seated on the right, three young women seem to be picking flowers and placing them in a basket The bone sprigs are openwork and decorated silver inlaid patterns. The first two folds and the upper part of the fan are painted in gold with floral motifs, bouquets in basins, arabesques and garlands. The back of the fan had to be restored at the end of the 19th century and an engraving representing a piano concert is pasted on the back. Some cuts are to be noted at the level of the folds. Second half of the 18th century Bone and gouache on paper. Folded length 27 cm.
