Object description :

"Portrait Of Woman Allegory Of Touch After Abraham Janssens H/t 17th Century"
Large portrait of woman with parrot after Abraham Janssens II "the Allegory of touch".
The parrot bites her with blood, a very rare production that can be found in the painting "La Dame au Perroquet" presented at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lille, an anonymous author.
In painting the parrot is symbol of purity and innocence. It can also be represented as an exotic animal, it then becomes, due to its rarity and its price, an indicator of social status.
Flemish school from the beginning of the 17th century.
        Oil on canvas.
        Original canvas.
        A few small occasional covers.
