"Portrait Of A Man By The Workshop Of Maurice Georges Poncelet"
France, 1914Presence of the Atelier M.G. Poncelet stamp
Maurice Georges Poncelet (1897-1978)
Pencil drawing on beige paper
This drawing from the first school of Paris represents a portrait of a man. It is interesting to note that this work is closer to cubism by this technique used with parsimony of drawing with lines characteristic of this artistic movement born at the beginning of the 20th century.
Our drawing was made by a pupil of Maurice Georges Poncelet, probably one of the most gifted since the presence of the stamp from the master's workshop shows that it was drawn up under the supervision of Poncelet and could not have come out of the workshop and put on the market only with his agreement.
Maurice Georges Poncelet is now exhibited notably at the Center Georges Pompidou in Paris.
