He studied art at the Applied Arts, then at the Beaux-Arts in Paris and then left for Brussels, where he continued his training in the studio of the sculptor Volti. Alain Bonnefoit uses the Japanese technique sumi-e, with Indian ink, drawing a drawing in one line, and oil. His works exude dreams, sensuality and eroticism.
