"Veramine Rug Iran 152 X 107 Cm"
Iranian kurk* wool rug, 1970-80. Very good state. The borders have been restored.Located south-east of Tehran, the small town of Véramine made carpets most often using the timeless 'mina khani' (daisy pattern), an interpretation of the 'herati' or 'mahi' motif. This motif, no doubt of Kurdish origin, is found on the bidjars. Tendency to shrink.
Elegant veramine on a blue background, in zaronim format in kurk wool (fine wool taken in spring from the necks of lambs). It is a real veramine and not a veramine made in Khorassan (north-eastern Iran). This great classic is made with the 'mina khani' pattern (daisy pattern). Three small "herati" borders highlight the entire rug.
* Kurk wool: fine lamb's wool taken by combing.
