"Davide And Golia - Painting On Canvas XVIII Century."
The painting, in oil on canvas, represents the defining moment in the story of David told in the Old Testament: the exposure of the head of the giant Goliath, beheaded by the young shepherd David, the future King. Undisputed protagonist of the canvas, David is represented in the foreground dominating the scene. Posed like a handsome boy, his right hand resting on his side near the sword used to decapitate Goliath's head, he elegantly wears a feathered hat and with a proud, detached and devoid of tragic feelings, he shows happy and proud of the gesture he has made. The painting is the work of an Emilian painter from the second half of the 18th century. Old coeva frame. cm. 145x119 including frame
