ISFAHAN (IRAN) CIRCA 1970. PERIOD OF SHAS Ivory field with branches of volutes of polychrome floral palmettes surrounded by fine twisted stems, framing a large central rosette with a crown of starry ruby, old gold and midnight blue flowers. Four spandrels reminiscent of the central rosette. Five borders, the main one being pearl gray with an interlacing of finely drawn floral bulbs surrounded by foliage in the shape of rams' horns. High quality silky lambswool velvet, flowers surrounded by silk, on silk foundations: silk warps, weft and fringes. Density of approximately 10,000 to 11,000 knots per dm2. Remarkable finesse
