Small Napoleon III black lacquered desk with mother-of-pearl and brass clover decoration called "Queen's Marquetry" This very elegant black lacquered lady's desk decorated with mother-of-pearl and brass clover inlays, curved on all sides, with rich gilded bronze fittings, probably comes from the workshop of Charles DIEHL cabinetmaker in Paris in 1840. The interior consists of three rosewood drawers and a pull tab, the interior flap is covered with blue felt. Lovely collector's item of very fine craftsmanship.
