Two-sided architectural element of a Buddhist monument from the period of the Kushan Empire around the 2nd century. Pink sandstone characteristic of the Mathura region in northeast India, where the first representations of Buddhist iconography developed. On each side is a lion in a medallion. 36cm x 6cm
