Object description :

"Oil On Panel - Composition - By Ben Wilson"
Oil on panel - Composition - by Ben Wilson (1913 - 2001) This oil on panel is a composition that tends towards abstraction. Through this dense pictorial layer and sometimes with reliefs, characters seem to emerge. The work dates from 1960. Signed on the back Ben Wilson Note that the frame is damaged at the corners. Visible at the Courcelles Antiquités Gallery, at 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. Born in 1913 and died in 2001, Ben Wilson painted Analytical Cubism and experimented with elements of abstraction, which he called "a scaffolding beneath the exterior", thus associating the cerebral and the emotional. His paintings are an exploration of the harmony of colors, compositional variations, using disjunctions, repeated and interlocking patterns, linear networks and complex overlays. ‎Ben Wilsion's work can be found in private collections around the world and also in many museum and university collections, such as Montclair State University, in Montclair, New Jersey.
