"Bust Of Diana In Bronze, After Houdon - Late Nineteenth"
Elegant bronze bust with golden brown patina of Diana, goddess of the moon and the hunt in the Roman pantheon, after the original work dating from 1767 by Jean-Antoine HOUDON, one of the most emblematic French sculptors of the 18th century century. The deity is represented here with her head turned to the right, a crescent of the lunar star holding her curly hair. The artist was able to transcribe majesty and grace in his fine features and haughty head carriage. Note the presence of the master's signature, as well as that of the "Frères Susse, Paris" foundry. The base of this sculpture consists of a pedestal with grooves and borders, also in bronze, which is an integral part of the work. Of antique inspiration, this magnificent bronze will charm you with its beauty and presence.********
