Rare copy of Caucasus carpet called Saliani, originating from the South-East Caucasus.
This beautiful model is in very good condition compared to its age and measures 132 cm wide by 205 cm long.
The colors used are very particular, louvet, purple, and blue.
We find a drawing that we only encounter on the Saliani, typical of the carpets of the village of Lenkoran, probably representing a centipede.
The entire decor resides in a stylized floral decoration around a highly structured carpet.
The wool is soft and lustrous and the whole harmonious.
This rug has been professionally and environmentally cleaned.
