Isfahan Carpet Signed

Ispahan rug signed "Iran Serafian" around 1975 (Iran) Velvet in high quality lambswool called kork. A few touches of silk surrounding the flowers on the foundations: silk warps, weft and fringes. Good condition. Density of around 10,000 knots per dm2. Ivory field with branches and scrolls of thin stems with polychrome flowered palmettes framing a large central polylobed floral rosette in old pink, midnight blue and beige, in the shape of a starry diamond. Four midnight blue spandrels with crenellated branches in the shape of serpentines surrounded by petals and flower buds. Five borders including the main ruby with interlacing of fine crenellated branches encrusted with bulbs and multicolored flowered palmettes.
