Bronze sculpture of a roaring seated lion, resting on three legs, the fourth right immobilizing a snake coiled on the ground, facing the beast .

Signature of the sculptor " V . CHEMIN " on the naturalistic terrace .

Joseph François Victor Chemin born in Paris on August 2, 1825 and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine on July 24 , 1901.
Victor Chemin was a French sculptor who was a pupil of Antoine-Louis Barye.
He began his career at the Salon in 1851 , he exhibited his works there, mainly animal sculptures, until 1894.
He received the 3 rd class medal , sculpture section , at the Salon of 1882 .
