18th Century French School, Portrait Of Joseph Melchior Marquis De Lestang-parade

18th century French School, portrait of Joseph Melchior, Marquis de Lestang-Parade (1737-1813), in the uniform of Lieutenant of Royal Horseback Grenadier, sitting in his interior (probably the hotel de Lestang-Parade in Aix in Provence, 18 rue de l'Opéra). On the wall to the right is the portrait of his wife Marie Pierrette de Ricard de Bregançon (1741 - 1824). The portrait is identified by various stickers on the back and is presented in a rich Louis XVI style frame (gold leaf gilded wood) from the 19th century. The painting dates from the 1770s.

Married 19 January 1762, Avignon, 84, France, to Marie Pierrete Elisabeth de RICARD born 21/12/1741 – daughter of Louis Hercule, marquis de Brégançon and de Joyeuse et de la GARDE, Counselor in the court of parliament 1706- 1747 & by Marie de VERVINS, baroness of Bédoin (1705-1794).

Beautiful family painting, very colorful and typical of the art of living of the aristocracy in Provence during the 18th century. Large format.
