Persian Bidjar rug in wool from the Iranian highlands, hand-knotted, 113 cm wide x 172 cm long, circa 1980 in perfect condition.
The shaving of these wool carpets is so precise and clean that the material resembles silk giving the wool a beautiful shine.
Not far from Sanandaj, the region of finely knotted Senneh rugs is the small town of Bijar which, together with its surrounding villages, produces what are arguably the heaviest and strongest rugs in Persia.
"Heavy and thick, Bijar carpets are difficult to handle but robust for eternity".
Our model has a classic floral star medallion decoration also present on the Senneh, the field presents all in fresh and luminous shades a very elaborate carpet of flowers, the fine borders on the lengths are adorned with finely knotted bouquets.
A resistant, quality rug, which with its colors can be placed anywhere in a house.
Very large passage carpet. Reinforcement strips are sewn under the edges.
