“Piqueur au relais” sculpture from the beginning of the 20th century based on the original work of sculptors Hippolyte Moreau and Prosper Lecourtier, artists working in the 2nd half of the 19th century until the end of the 1st quarter of the 20th century. The piqueur is a hunting valet on horseback, dressed here in the style of the Louis XV period, leading the pack of dogs, here he is at the belay, dismounted from his mount ready to sound with his trumpet, dressed in a red coat , the hunting sword at his side and holding his dog of the “Gascogne blue” breed. This sculpture is an unsigned proof, in patinated bronze and painted in polychromy. This subject was produced, according to the orders, in bronze.)
