VERON Alexandre René Born in January 1826 in Montbazon (Indre-et-Loire). Died in April 1897. 1

Pupil of Paul Delaroche. He began at the Salon of 1848. Véron belongs to the category of painters from Daubigny's suite.
He holds an honorable place among the minor artists of the Barbizon School. He devoted himself exclusively to the landscape.

The sites he most often sought were those of the forest of Fontainebleau. However he also painted in: Auvers-sur-Oise, Pontoise, Crécy-en-Brie, Senlis, Osny, Argenteuil, Asnières, Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme.
