"Silver Torah Breastplate From Czechoslovakia1928 Circa"
Torah Silver breastplate in Czechoslovakian repoussé silver 1928 circa. High quality embossed and chiseled silver sheet in the shape of a shield, it has two lateral scrolls starting from an oval cartouche with Jewish inscriptions, above which there is a horizontal hollow accessible from the back through the sliding of a lamina. In the center, two splendid lions of Judas with their heads turned outwards hold the two tables surmounted by the star of David. In the upper part, a rich drapery of a curtain within an arched frame topped by a non-relevant crown fixed to the plaque by three riveted thorns.
At the lower left of the tableau we find the mark in an oval field with a point facing downwards and the profile of a woman with a covered head and the number 3 relative to the silver works with a title of800/000 from 1922 to 1929 in Czechoslovakia.On the right in the square, theinitialsA Prefer to the silvermaker.
Inside the tableau an Yiddish inscription:Ezechiele Adler 1928 77 years old.
It weighs 380 grams, good age related condition.
