"Wall Clock 18th Century Louis XVI Causard Duroy"
A period Louis XVI Cartel clock in original fire gilded bronze; the large white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals and is signed CAUSARD DUROY, who was an important 18th century French clockmaker. The dial is surmounted with a draped classical urn, on each side of the dial are columns topped with goat's heads, and draped lion's skins; below the dial is a large lion's head mask. The tapered clock case ends in a decorative pomegranate finish. The clock case design can be attributed to Robert Osmond.
