Infantry grenadier officer's saber à la Montmorency, Directoire period / 1st Empire. 18th - 19th century. Wooden rocket covered with filigree sheepskin. Cap with a long tail in the shape of a Lion's head. Brass hilt consisting of a main guard branch and two secondary "S" guards adorned with a grenade. Openwork oval tray bearing 1 hallmark. Semi-curved blade with hollow sides with 1 cutting edge and counter-edged point of 10 cm with its red tie on the heel. Sheath in blackened leather with three fittings, 2 of which have bail rings and button. Length with scabbard: 90 cm Length without scabbard: 87 cm Length of the blade: 74 cm Width of the blade at the heel: 3.5 cm Good condition of conservation and use, in its own juice, see photos.
