An oil on cardboard measuring 55X46 cm representing a bouquet of flowers signed lower right work around 1930 by Stefania Łazarska (born in 1887 in Warsaw, died in 1977 in Paris)

She graduated in philosophy from the Jagiellonian University and studied at the same time at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow. She continued her painting studies from 1912 at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and at the Académie Ranson with Maurice Denis. In Paris, she married Tadeusz Łazarski, who worked at the Pasteur Institute. In 1914, she turned to Adam Mickiewicz's daughter, Maria Gorecka, with a proposal to create an applied art workshop, the income from the sale of manufactured objects being used to help Polish artists who found themselves in France, who find themselves in a bad financial situation. In this way, Stefania Łazarska created a workshop where rag dolls were produced, first she designed them herself, later Fryda Frankowska and Tadeusz Makowski joined her.
