Rare old painting from the early 17th century, Italian school, oil on canvas representing Saint Francis of Assisi kneeling in prayer. In the background a dense forest lets glimpse the sky, on the right edge of the composition, an idealized view of the city of Assisi. Old restorations, trace of sewing on the bottom of the canvas, in a posterior frame in gilded wood. Beautiful and moving painting of devotion.
