France, 1930s, very pretty pair of silver spelter bookends on ebony-type wooden bases depicting Pierrot and Colombine. Colombine is seated, her legs at the side, her right hand on her hip, listening to Pierrot sing and play the mandolin. The bases are decorated in the corners with four slats of gilded metal. Height 12cm. Width 8.5cm. Length 15cm. Good condition except for slight normal wear and no impact. Small lack of silvering on Colombine's right arm.
