"Provencal Wedding Wardrobe"
Provencal wedding wardrobe in painted walnut. Transition from the Louis XV / Louis XVI eras, around 1760. Produced in the Arles region. The doors and the sides present a work of moldings on three panels. The upper crosspiece is sculpted with scrolls of flowers and foliage. On the pediment a medallion adorned with a row of pearls frames two hearts pierced with an arrow. It is topped with a bow and a floral garland. The front uprights are rounded and molded. In the lower part, the crosspiece is fretted and carved with an urn, foliage and flowers. The forefeet are rolling. The interior is made up of three shelves. The ironwork is all original. The lock with its original key is functional. The wardrobe has been re-lacquered and patinated in two shades of almond green. It is embellished with an off-white rechampi with moldings and sculptures. The interior for its part is painted in matte black.
