Barometer Thermometer Signed Sormany XVIII

Barometer Medallion-shaped thermometer in carved gilded and green lacquered wood, Louis XVI style. Openwork pediment richly carved with a couple of doves, a quiver and a torch under a leafy wreath, laurel garlands on the sides and at the base. The dial signed "Sormany Palais Egalité Galerie de bois n°260 à Paris", also bears the name of Joseph Ostinelli. Alcohol thermometer which lists the countries Senegal and Syria as well as the city of Saint Petersburg for temperatures, you can also see the dates 1776, 1788,1798 and 17... Barometer (original mercury mechanism not revised). Gold leaf gilding. Parisian work from the end of the 18th century / beginning of the 19th century
