Bronze sculpture representing Venus removing the sandal. The naked goddess, getting ready to take a bath, makes the very human gesture of undoing a sandal. The left arm, meanwhile, is raised, as if to compensate for the position while maintaining balance. Bearing the inscription: FOUND AT CHERCHELL IN 1855 France XVIII th or earlier
