"Commode Showcase In Rosewood, Louis XV Style, Napoleon III Period - Mid-19th Century"
Remarkable Louis XV Style Commode Showcase, in Rosewood and Light Wood Marquetry. Its Elegant Movement Façade features a Door with a Rare Original Undulating Glass, a vestige of a Skill that has almost disappeared today. Three shelves line this upper part, upholstered, like the bottom, with a Yellow Velvet Fabric. This piece of furniture also opens with three drawers with identical graceful curves, which are each equipped with pull handles and entries in bronze. Note the absence of visible crosspieces, allowing a skilful continuity in the Marquetry Decors they feature. It is thus possible for us to admire various motifs in Light Wood on a background of Rosewood from Rio laid out "in Fern": a basket containing flowers and foliage surmounting two sea creatures. The sides, convex in shape, are adorned with a period window and are also embellished with Ornamentations in Light Wood Marquetry. The Rosewood Uprights are enriched with a large Brass Groove, and end with slightly tapered Feet. We will appreciate the brilliance and prestige emanating from the multitude of Bronzes that adorn this Furniture: Gallery in curtains and tassels on the top, Falls on the uprights, Rocaille Frames around the Windows and on the low crosspiece, or even Clogs on the feet. This Decorative Furniture closes with four Original locks, each provided with its adjusted Key. Lovers of Exceptional Goods seeking to Perfect their interior will inevitably be seduced by this Magnificent Chest of Drawers.********
