"Louis XV Commode In Cubic Marquetry From The 18th Century"
Original and rare chest of drawers in native wood marquetry: including walnut, plum maple, boxwood.... The piece of furniture is built using traditional techniques from the 18th century. The veneer is of good thickness, the fonçures are debited manually, the locksmithing is original. The significant use of regional wood suggests that this beautiful piece of furniture could have been made in northern Italy, in the east or in the south of France for wealthy provincial owners. Indeed the quality of the bronzes, the marquetry, the elegance of the forms (curves on the three sides) prove that we are in the presence of an unusual piece of furniture. The chest of drawers is topped with a very pretty marble, probably brought back to the 19th century. Note some accidents of use and old restorations. A chip on the back of the right side of home plate.
