"Travel Cover, Silver & Agate, Holland, Late 17th"
- Travel cutlery
- Silver, steel and agate
- Holland, late 17th - early 18th century
- Manufacturer's mark on the blade "f" and a cross (undetermined)
- Knife length: 13.9 cm, fork length: 11.3 ; weight: 32g
- Very good condition, small slit on the handle of the fork (not broken)
- Provenance: Jacques and Galila Hollander, n ° 305 (inscribed on the ferrule of the fork and the blade)

- Travel cutlery in agate and silver composed of a fork and a knife with a steel blade. The orange agate handle, faceted tapered, is held by a faceted silver ferrule with wolf tooth decorations underlined with a double thread, decoration that we find on the bouterolles. The base of the fork's stem is underlined with a baluster decoration.

- We find several cutlery of this type as well in Holland as in England listed in the literature and in prestigious collections. This one from the Jacques Hollander collection is comparable to another cover photographed in his book [2, n ° 161] or those in Historische Bestecke [1, n ° 316 & 319].
