"Aubusson Polychrome Tapestry, Louis XV Period - 18th Century: Pastoral Scene - 258cm X 201cm"
Charming Aubusson tapestry in wool and silk from the 18th century (Louis XV period) in its original tapestry border. It represents a couple of a hunter aristocrat lying with his dog and his gun, receiving the visit of a pretty shepherdess with a sheep, evolving in a castle park. Ideal format, easy to place: it is already a large format, but which remains neither too big nor too small. The tapestry has benefited from a major restoration work by having been lined with canvas over the entire surface and equipped with a fixing system. The colors of the reds are well preserved, some wear and old restorations (retracting in the beige sky), but the whole remains in good condition and charming. Thus restored, the tapestry is ready to face the next 100 years with great stability. Beautiful piece. Width: 201cm Height: 258cm
