His work was influenced by the painter Eugène Boudin as well as his contemporary Raôul Dufy, however he differentiates himself by using a softer color palette and in a style all his own. He was a restorer for the French National Museums, in particular the Louvre. He established his studio in Honfleur alongside renowned artists such as André Hamburg and Ferdinand Herbo. Famous for its landscapes of Normandy like Deauville, Honfleur or Touville. Painting family scenes, beach holidays, joie de vivre, he also painted Nice and Venice, having a foothold in Paris, he painted many neighborhoods in a Belle-Epoque atmosphere. He will often use for his paintings the cardboard support or the hardboard panel, giving him more ease on the outside. It was after his death in 1990 that his works were revealed to the general public and sold in numerous galleries in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and especially the United States of America.
