Oil on canvas depicting a landscape with a herd of cows signed lower right Grolig. Curt Victor Clemens Grolig (1805-1863) was a German born artist who settled in France after his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Dresden. He exhibited at the Royal Academy of Copenhagen and then became the favorite painter of the King of Saxony. In France he worked with the famous artist Horace Vernet. The canvas is in very good condition with just a tiny old restoration to report but perfectly invisible. It measures 130cm wide by 85cm high. Superb frame with its original gilding. The painting measures 156cm by 115 high framed.  Superb painting of very high quality. Rare in such large dimensions
