Bronze group representing three dogs on the lookout, watching the edge of a burrow to flush out hares.
The energy and instinct to hunt dogs is put forward here, the dogs are concentrated on the burrow.
Bronze group with brown patina.
Signature of the sculptor "J.MOIGNIEZ" on the naturalistic oval terrace, richly chiseled.

Jules Moigniez (1835-1894)

French animal sculptor .

His father was a metal gilder.
Jules Moigniez was a pupil of Paul Comolera (1818-1897) , a great sculptor specializing in birds .
His teacher is Paul Comoléra , who was a pupil of François Rude .
Moigniez exhibited at the age of twenty his first sculpture " Chien Braque stopping a pheasant " at the Universal Exhibition of 1855 in Paris .
He then exhibited regularly at the Salon, from 1859 to 1892 , where he obtained an honorable mention in the first year .
He presented his sculptures again at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878 .

Jules Moigniez is successful , particularly in England and the United States .
Indeed , his works are considered remarkably detailed , with a very deep carving , completed with an elegance in the attitudes .
