"At the window of the tavern", aquatint or etching in colors by Charles Jacque, dated 1849, after Adriaen Van Ostade, signed and numbered 53. Engraving in very good condition and very fresh. Very light brown spots around the edge delimiting the plate. Under mat and protective glass, in a blackened wood frame enhanced with a beaded and gilded wood marie-louise. Dimensions of the plate 15x13.5 cm Dimensions at sight 17x14.5 cm Total dimensions, with frame, 40x36.5 cm Charles Émile Jacque born May 23, 1813 in Paris and died in the same city on May 7, 1894 is a painter and engraver French of the School of Barbizon. Very early on, he rubbed shoulders with the future actors of the school of the new landscape of 1830. Illustrator then caricaturist, he became an engraver and relaunched this art fallen into disuse.
