Large Powder Reserve, Tibet XIXth flag

Object description :

"Large Powder Reserve, Tibet XIXth"
It is a very large powder flask, therefore a powder reserve, from Tibet.
The body of the powder flask is made of a single buffalo horn, fluted in concave facets.
The bottom is a wooden plate. An iron band surrounds the bottom of the flask.
The opposite part, the opening, is decorated with embossed brass, with decoration of typical Tibetan motifs.
The stopper is made of wood. It is attached by a small textile tie.
This kind of object is very rare in Europe, especially complete.
One more time, we are with this flask travelling trough the country "of the gentleman-thieves" following the steps of Alexandra David-Neel...
This item should find its place in a collection related with Himalaya.
