Margueritte Frey-surbek, Female Nude (# Swiss Frey Surbek Klee Nabis Vuillard) flag

Object description :

"Margueritte Frey-surbek, Female Nude (# Swiss Frey Surbek Klee Nabis Vuillard)"
Margueritte Frey Surbek (1886 - 1981): Swiss woman painter, trained at the Bern School of Arts and Crafts then with Paul Klee (1904-06) who advised her to continue her training at the Ranson Academy in Paris (1906 -11) where she frequents the Nabis painters. With her husband Victor Surbek, she creates an art school in Bern.

Our lithograph testifies to the painter's interest in the nude from the start. One feels there an immediacy resulting from his taste for painting wild animals. Note also the use of colored paper (a very light mustard) which makes the work more pleasant. Although it is a lithograph, this nude gives the impression of a painting. The very thin sheet of paper was glued to cardboard (there is no bubble or lift). On the back, trace of an old assembly (made in Amsterdam).

Lithography on paper (very clear biker), 64.5 x 48.5 cm, justified in pencil lower left (25/30) and signed in pencil lower right (Margueritte Frey-Surbek) Possibility of free withdrawal in Antwerp and Brussels. For shipments, costs according to the prices of the Belgian post.
