Raymond Allègre, Canal à Venise, Oil on canvas. Workshop stamp on the left + signature on the lower right. 73 cm x 92 cm Sold as found , to be cleaned. Raymond Allègre, born in Marseille on 8/27/1857, he died in 1933 in his hometown. He was a pupil of Antoine Vollon, Bonnard and JP Laurens. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1881 to 1932. He was a medalist at the Universal Exhibition of 1900 and Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1903. Famous for his views of Venice and his landscapes of Provence, he is found in the museums of Aix, Roanne and Rouen
