The passage of the ford.
Oil on canvas of horizontal rectangular form "the passage of the ford", scene of life of the second part of the XVIIIth century; mending on frame set in a gilded wooden frame treated in amati and burnished. A couple of peasants are busy crossing the river ford with their animals. The peasant woman, perched on a mule, advises her husband, who is busy getting the recalcitrant sheep into the water, on what to do.
