This rare pair of dishes represents on the one hand a pack of dogs attacking a wolf in the mind of the painter Desportes (numbered 592), and on the other hand three partridges near a pond and looking for food (numbered 571). The dish is surrounded by branches and oak leaves bonding in a socket at each end. The scenes stand out against a blue background close to the oven blue of Sèvres. This work in the spirit of Palissy is unusual for Sarreguemines.
