"Snuffbox, XIXth Century."
This small round box is made of thuja burl, the interior is lined with tortoiseshell, four tortoiseshell nets surround this box which was intended to receive tobacco. The magnifying glass which was used is of an extreme finesse and required of the lathe worker a very great mastery of his art. Period late 18th century or early 19th century. Dimensions: Diameter 8.9 cm, height 2.6 cm.
