Nice painting by Odette du Bosch representing a bouquet of flowers composed of peonies in a ceramic vase and a sprig of peony on a draped entablature. Our oil on canvas is signed lower left Odette Du Bosch, it is sold with its original frame. Odette du Bosch was born Odette Misermont in 1903 in Limoges and died in 1993. She lived in Algeria from 1925 to 1962 with her industrial husband Gérard Du Bosch. She was a pupil of the famous Flemish painter Emile Deckens. The first part of his work reveals his love for Algeria and Orientalism. After her return to France in 1962 in her native Limousin, numerous exhibitions are devoted to her works, she was honorary president of the Artists of Limousin. Numerous awards bear witness to his talent. (see last photo).
