"Painting XVII Crucification Of Christ"
Superb late 17th century religious painting representing Christ in crucification. Christ is presented on the cross, the arms in V, partially covered by the perizonium. We see in the background a village with a temple, fortresses drawn in a naive way, against a background of hills and forest all under a cloudy sky lit by the moon. Above the head of Christ is inscribed "Jesus Nazarenus rex Ludaeorum" ie Jesus the Nazarene king of the Jews. The frame is rounded at the top of the original. The quality set has kept its original colors, religious painting in very good condition.
