Natural son of Pierre Loti, he began as a student at the Nantes School of Fine Arts, in the studio of Paul Deltombe. The Marine Academy awarded him its prize for the foundation of the Concarneau fishing museum, inaugurated in July 1961, of which he was the first curator but also one of the decorators and of which he produced a large number of models.
