18th century French School Portrait of a man with his dog in a Dutch landscape Oil on canvas Size: 81 x 62.5 cm Size with frame: 99 x 80 cm Unusual portrait representing a nobleman dressed in the fashion of the second half 18th century but which rests in a Flemish landscape in the style of the 17th century. The portrait suggests that it is a hunter (even if the rifle is not present), since the latter is represented delicately putting his hand on the head of his dog and in the background in the landscape we can see two dogs chasing a hare.
